Z-Module OÜ was founded on 13 May 2009.
The company produces wooden construction modules, which are made from dimensioned materials left over from the lumber industry. We thereby try to reduce leftover lumber in industry and economize on consumption. In the manufacture of the modules, we use traditional mortise and tenon joints and connection combinations which connects and supports the wall construction both vertically and horizontally. We use human- and nature-friendly glue in the production of the wall modules along with sorted lumber. Stable moisture content is the wooden lamellas and their optimal dimensions in the modules minimize subsequent fluctuations in the final structure. When developing the product, we considered the steady price increases of various energy carriers, and therefore, the primarily goal in our product development is to create a building with the lowest possible energy costs – both in the course of the construction and after its completion.

In relation with the continuing product development, Oü Z-Module has initiated co-operation with the Tallinn University of Applied Sciences. On 01.11.2010, a modular wall was installed in the outdoors laboratory of construction physics, in order to start measurements and studies. The structure of the test wall is composed of wooden lamella modules with a thermal insulation made of wood fibre wool, as a combination of 100 mm wooden module + 120 mm wood fibre wool + 100 mm wooden module.
